This café and bakery is located on Far West, an area of Austin known for college living especially amongst the international student crowd with a suburb feel. They offer sandwiches and on-site baked goods: cupcakes, cookies, and cakes, but the best part is the gelato–Italian ice cream with less butterfat and higher quality ingredients. This is one of a handful of gelato-serving cafés. Unfortunately this denser more flavorful version of ice cream has not become mainstream yet but come to Kneaded Pleasures to try some and become addicted.
Open from 7 am to 10 pm each day, this café has a small breakfast menu but is served all day with a $1.00 surcharge if ordered after 11 am. The prices are excellent with only the chef salad costing more than $7.00 and the everyday deal of choosing two options–half a salad, half a sandwich, cup of soup, or half a baked potato, for only $7.25. Check out the menu at http://www.kneadedpleasures.com. All ingredients are fresh and all sandwiches are made to order so visit the friendly staff at Kneaded Pleasures for a filling roast beef or garden vegetable sandwich. Vegetarian or omnivore, breakfast, lunch or dinner, this café will suit your budget and your appetite.
