My Two Worlds

I wrote  a blog post for another book reviewer blogger, Deborah, for her blog Books, Movies, and Chinese Food. This is Asian-American Heritage Month and she has been educating her readers on the Asian-American experience and all things Asian. Please read about my experience here.

I’m curious about something and I hope you can answer my question. Why do most Asians consider their race before their nationality? For example, although you were born in the US, you consider yourself Taiwanese.

Now my ancestors are from Ireland, England and Germany, but I, like you, was born in the US. I call myself an American.
